We do not advocate the use of a muzzle for protection of property as this is not addressing the cause of the 'problem' and can result in other behaviours occurring
Can be used to prevent scavenging when out on walk.
We advise seeking professional help in cases of aggression towards people and other dogs. Muzzles in these cases again do not address the problem but may be suitable for safety issues depending on circumstances.
Any dog may react aggressively if unable to move away from a fearful or painful situation however well socialised and mild mannered.
Training dogs to wear a muzzle can be important as if they are ever injured it would be one less thing to be scared about in the middle of an extremely frightening and painful situation.
Some breeds of dog are required by law to wear a muzzle in public these include the Pit-bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Braziliero.
